Planning a road trip from Bahrain? Whether you’re looking for a short escape or a fun adventure, there are plenty of great places just a drive away. Check out these 5 destinations that are perfect for your next road trip!

Bahrain to Qatar (Doha)
Drive Time: 5 Hours

This road trip to Qatar takes you through Saudi Arabia. You’ll need a transit visa for Saudi Arabia to continue your trip to Qatar. Once you reach Doha, you may be able to get a visa on arrival. Make sure you have the required documents and check the latest travel regulations before you go.

Bahrain to Saudi Arabia (Al Khobar)
Drive Time: 45 Minutes

Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia is a great spot for a day trip or weekend getaway, only about 45 minutes away. To get there, you’ll take the King Fahd Causeway, which connects Bahrain to Saudi Arabia. Keep in mind, the Causeway has a toll fee of 2.5 Bahraini Dinar or 25 Saudi Riyals. If you’re a resident of Bahrain, applying for an eVisa is recommended for easy entry into Saudi Arabia. Checking the latest visa requirements will help ensure a smooth trip.

Bahrain to Kuwait (Kuwait City)
Drive Time: 5 Hours

For your road trip from Manama to Kuwait City, you’ll drive through Saudi Arabia, enjoying the wide roads and desert views. When you reach Kuwait City, you’ll find a lively city with a mix of modern and cultural attractions. Don’t forget to have your passport and travel documents ready. You’ll also need a Saudi transit visa to pass through Saudi Arabia on your way to Kuwait.

Bahrain to United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi)
Drive Time: 8 Hours

Start your road trip by crossing the King Fahd Causeway, which connects Bahrain to Saudi Arabia. When you reach the Saudi-UAE border at Al Batha, double-check that you have your visa and all necessary documents. Stay up-to-date with visa requirements to ensure a smooth border crossing.

Bahrain to Oman (Muscat)
Drive Time: 13 Hours

You have two route options: one through Saudi Arabia and the UAE, where you’ll need transit visas for both countries, or a new route via the Rub Al Khali Highway, also known as the Empty Quarter, which connects GCC countries. If you choose the Rub Al Khali Highway, you’ll only need to pass through Saudi Arabia. However, traveling to Oman means long hours on the road, so plan plenty of rest stops.

Make sure to plan your route carefully and be prepared for long stretches with limited services, as this will help ensure a safe and smooth journey, no matter where you’re traveling.

Here’s to a safe, fun, and exciting journey!
