A Greener Bahrain: Al-Muharraq Municipality Plants Almond Trees in Arad Fort

A greener future for Bahrain! Al-Muharaq Municipality just did something pretty cool. They teamed up with the Islamic Society and got support from Al-Salam Bank to plant almond trees in the walkway of Arad Fort! Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Mahmoud, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Society, along with a number of officials and municipality employees attended the event.

But this wasn’t just some random tree planting. It’s part of the municipality’s “Sawaad” campaign to promote environmental protection and sustainability. And planting almond trees is the perfect way to do it. Almonds are native to Bahrain and thrive in the local climate. They’re great for providing shade and food for wildlife, and their flowers look stunning in the spring.

But get this: the benefits don’t stop there! These trees could also provide an economic boost to the community. Almonds are a valuable crop, and the municipality hopes to use it to create local products. That’s some serious potential right there.

All in all, this is a fantastic move by Al-Muharaq Municipality. They’re not only beautifying Arad Fort, but they’re also promoting environmental protection and sustainability, and boosting the local economy.

A greener future!
