Bahrain’s ground and port infrastructure ranked first among Arab countries and the MENA region! The World Economic Forum’s 2021 released the info in its Travel and Tourism Development Index (TTDI).

Bahrain is moving in full swing with its tourism strategy. And it aims to attract 14 million tourists by 2026. It plans to increase the tourism sector’s GDP contribution in the Kingdom to 11.4%.

Second best tourism policy in the GCC

Bahrain’s business environment ranked12th globally. And among GCC countries, it ranked second in Travel and Tourism policy. It holds the second rank in ‘demand pressure and impact’ in the GCC too. Tourists’ length of stay and their interest in cultural and natural attractions add to this ranking. Along with the quality of the town and the city centers.

“Bahrain’s ranking in the report is another testament to the unique offerings within (its) tourism sector. The Kingdom is increasingly becoming a more attractive destination for tourists and investors alike. With our new tourism strategy, we look forward to seeing the sector contribute more towards the Kingdom’s economic growth.”

Dr Nasser Ali Qaedi, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA)
