During a special meeting, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa welcomed Alexey Skosyrev, the Russian Ambassador to Bahrain. Along with Grigory Velikikh, the Deputy CEO of Roscongress Foundation, and Tomashoff Vladimir from Kamchatka Falcon Centre.
Accompanying the King was His Highness Colonel Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC).
An exciting highlight of the meeting was the presentation of a rare Siberian falcon to King Hamad as a gift from Russian President Vladimir Putin. This special falcon represents President Putin’s appreciation for King Hamad and the strong relationship between them. Additionally, King Hamad received another falcon gift from the Kamchatka Falcon Centre, showcasing the uniqueness of the occasion.
During the meeting, the Russian delegation conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Putin to King Hamad, along with well wishes for Bahrain’s prosperity and its people. In return, King Hamad expressed his greetings and good wishes to President Putin and the people of Russia, emphasizing the importance of fostering strong ties between the two nations.
King Hamad expressed his gratitude to President Putin for his efforts in further strengthening the historical relations between Bahrain and Russia. He also highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to protecting endangered species, particularly emphasizing the cultural heritage associated with falconry. The Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) in Bahrain has supported the signing of a Declaration of Intent for “World Falcon Day,” aimed at safeguarding endangered falcon species.
Appreciating the depth and advancement of Bahraini-Russian relations, King Hamad praised the joint commitment to enhancing these relations across various domains.
The Russian delegation expressed their heartfelt appreciation to King Hamad for his dedication to strengthening bilateral relations and fostering cooperation between the two countries.
