The fighting between Israel and Hamas, which launched a surprise attack on Saturday, is the latest in seven decades of war and conflict between Israelis and Palestinians. That has drawn in outside powers and destabilized the wider Middle East.
The King of Bahrain, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, is stepping up to help our Palestinian brothers and sisters during these tough times. As you might know, things have been pretty intense between Palestine and Israel lately. But now, the King has issued his royal directives to provide urgent humanitarian aid to the Palestinians. Recognizing the challenging humanitarian conditions they’re facing.
The support will be channeled through the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). It’s great to see Bahrain taking a stand and showing its unwavering support for our Palestinian friends. Helping each other out in times of need is one of the core values of Bahrain! And this assistance is just another example of that.
