Bahrain has officially established the Bahrain Space Agency through a Royal Decree, replacing the previous National Space Science Authority, which was set up in 2014. The new agency will be under the Supreme Defense Council and will be supervised by its Secretary-General. To mark the occasion, King Hamad welcomed Sheikh Nasser and the Bahrain Space Agency team at Al-Sakhir Palace. They celebrated the successful launch of Bahrain’s first satellite, “Al-Munther,“ which was sent into orbit using a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base in the USA.
King Hamad praised this historic achievement and acknowledged the efforts of Bahrain’s young talents. He emphasized that the success of Al-Munther is a significant step for Bahrain, positioning the country as a global leader in space science and technology.
