HRH Prince Salman Inaugurates the Kanoo Museum As Part of Plans to Redevelop Manama Souq

New Beginnings!

HRH Prince Salman inaugurated the Kanoo Museum as part of the plans to redevelop the historic area of Manama Souq under the directives of HM King Hamad. The inauguration was held in line with the Royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, aimed at preserving Bahrain’s historical and cultural identity, launching a comprehensive redevelopment plan for the Manama Souq’s heritage district, and addressing infrastructure needs across various historic areas.

The Kanoo Museum, a private initiative by the Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group, sits in the company’s very first building right in the heart of Old Manama Souq. The late Khalid Kanoo was instrumental in creating the museum, which offers visitors a rich cultural journey through exhibits that bring to life Bahrain’s heritage, economic history, and commercial growth, along with that of the wider region.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister praised the Kanoo family for their remarkable contributions to Bahrain’s economic and social life, highlighting their dedicated service to the nation. He also noted that their efforts reflect the important role the private sector plays in driving the Kingdom’s growth.
