Roof top gardens for the win!
Green green all the way! Roof top gardens are what we need guys, imagine being in a mall and instead of the concrete walls we get to walk around greenery. Just thinking about it makes us feel fresh! A new proposal for green roofs on shopping malls and complexes has been put forward by Parliament’s Public Utilities and Environment Affairs Committee Chairman, Mohammed Buhamood. We stan such initiatives!
The proposal aims at giving visitors a ‘green’ experience and fresh air. Mohammed Buhamood said “Several countries like Singapore now make it mandatory for shopping centres, complexes and malls to have glasshouse rooftop gardens in which people can exercise or eat, rather than in the food court.”
The proposal was recommended by the committee and will be debated by MPs next month, as their final term of the four-year tenure completes. Let’s hope for the ‘green best’!

المجمعات في البحرين راح توفر أسطح خضراء
أخضر على طول الطريق! أسطح الحدائق الخضرة هي كل ما نحتاجه في مجمعاتنا التجارية بدل الجدران الخرسانية الإعتيادية. راح نتمشى في مساحات خضراء جميلة. مجرد التفكير في الأمر يخلينا نشعر بالانتعاش! محمد بوحمود رئيس لجنة المرافق العامة وشؤون البيئة في البرلمان إقترح اقتراح جديد بشأن الأسطح الخضراء في المجمعات التجارية. يعتبر إقتراح محمود!
يهدف الاقتراح إلى منح الزائرين تجربة “خضراء” لهواء نقي. قال محمد بوحمود: “العديد من البلدان مثل سنغافورة جعلت الجدران الخضراء ضرورة إلزامية الآن في مراكز التسوق والمجمعات والمراكز التجارية مع وجود حدائق زجاجية على السطح ليتمكن الناس فيها من ممارسة الرياضة أو تناول الطعام ، بدلاً من تناول الطعام في قاعة الطعام.
وقد أوصت اللجنة بالاقتراح وسيناقشه النواب الشهر المقبل، مع انتهاء فترة ولايتهم النهائية البالغة أربع سنوات. خلونا نتأمل بالخير!
