Update! Gulf Air and Ministry of Labour Agree to Rehire Laid off Employees

The Ministry of Labour and the management of Gulf Air Group Holding (GFG) recently held an emergency meeting together after recent news of several employees being laid off unexpectedly.

Good news! They have reached an agreement that will benefit employees who were affected by the decision to merge and restructure departments. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, the Minister of Labour, and Zayed Rashid Al Zayani, the Chairman of GFG, made the announcement.

According to the agreement, these employees will be given three different options to choose from. These options are:

  • Alternative job opportunities within GFG
  • Retirement offers for those who are eligible based on their years of service
  • Suitable end-of-service offers for those who prefer that

The minister emphasized that the goal is to provide employees with choices that suit their individual circumstances. The Chairman of GFG expressed pride in the Bahraini talents working in GFG subsidiaries and expressed gratitude for their hard work and contributions to the group!

A win-win situation!
