You Can Register for This Workshop in Jasra to Learn a Few Local Handicrafts

Getting a glimpse into the life of our local craftsmen

The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities is collaborating with Al Jasra Handicrafts Centre, giving us the chance to partake in a bunch of super traditional activities over the next months! Basically, if you’re into the local art scene and the work of our local craftsmen, you’ll definitely want to sign up for this.

The workshops are a part of a training program held on every Saturday, from May 22nd to June 12th. This Saturday’s workshop is all about ‘Al-Naqda (Arabic for the measuring unit of silver weight) Embroidery,’ which is set to teach us all about the traditional art & techniques of Naqda when designing. Another workshop opportunity is all about the art of saff, or palm leaf weaving. As you can tell, all super local and centered around getting in tune with our culture & heritage!

In light of the recent updates on safety measures and COVID-19 guidelines, the workshop is limited to those who are above 18yo & have been fully vaccinated or recovered.

You can register for the workshop on the BACA website HERE.

Stay safe & enjoy!
