The City Football Group, the organization that owns and manages 11 football clubs worldwide, including Manchester City, hired the Bahraini Maram AlBaharna as a football insights analyst in January 2023. Maram has been working in the Insight Department of the City Football Group, where she produces high-quality, reliable, and insightful visual analytics, while also educating the club’s football staff about analytics.
Maram’s appointment is a source of pride not just for the City Football Group, but for Bahrain as well. She completed her Bachelor of Applied Science in Economics and Management from the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance, and a BSc in Economics and Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She also completed her Master’s in Computing and Data Science from the Manchester Metropolitan University last year. Before joining the City Football Group, Maram worked as a data journalist at the media company The Athletic.
Maram expressed her excitement on LinkedIn when she joined, saying, “I’m happy to share that I’ve joined the City Football Group as a Football Insights Analyst! My journey in football has been an absolute ride — incredibly grateful for what’s come and what’s in store!”
