Bahrain made history at the 33rd Olympic Games in Paris, securing four medals—the most since its Olympic debut in 1984. The Kingdom clinched two golds, one silver, and one bronze, marking a major milestone in its sporting journey.
Wrestler Ahmed Taj Eddin earned Bahrain’s second gold at Paris 2024, defeating his Georgian opponent and securing Bahrain’s first Olympic wrestling medal. This brings Bahrain’s total Olympic gold count to four.
The final match and award ceremony were attended by key figures, including His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, whose leadership has been instrumental in this success.
Bahrain’s achievements at Paris 2024 have put the Kingdom in the global spotlight, ranking first among Arab nations and 33rd globally out of 204 participating countries. This is a significant leap from previous rankings, such as 77th in Tokyo 2020 and 48th in Rio 2016.
HH Shaikh Nasser congratulated His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman, emphasizing that this victory is a testament to Bahrain’s perseverance. Bahrain’s Olympic journey continues to inspire, with its champions now firmly etched in history.
