In addition to this, the Minister of Health, Dr. Jalila bint Sayed Jawad Hassan, was elected as Chair of Main Committee of the World Health Assembly, a prestigious position that acknowledges Bahrain’s ongoing efforts in implementing programs and initiatives to improve health systems and health security in partnership with the World Health Organization. This is the first time that the Kingdom of Bahrain has occupied this high position, which is essential in the work of the World Health Assembly concerned with managing sessions and approving recommendations of technical and technical topics related to health in countries of the world.
Moreover, Bahrain’s Dr. Maryam Athbi Al-Jalahma, CEO of the National Health Regulatory Authority, received the “Nelson Mandela Award” for promoting health from the World Health Organization.
