The Ministry of Works has officially launched a tender to build East Hidd’s very first government school, marking a massive upgrade that keeps pace with the rapid urban growth and booming population in this modern residential district. This project is a major win for local families, bringing top-tier education infrastructure right to their doorstep. Designed as a primary school for boys, the facility is set to be a model for modern education, featuring 40 fully equipped classrooms alongside a specialized classroom dedicated entirely to students with special needs. Beyond regular desk space, the campus will boast a rich lineup of academic facilities, including science labs, home economics rooms, art studios, computer and IT labs, a technical workshop, a talent development lab, and a spacious library.
The school’s design makes it clear that student life will extend far beyond the classroom, with a strong focus on physical health and talent development. The campus will feature an indoor gym, multi-sport indoor courts, and dedicated outdoor courts for handball, basketball, and volleyball. The absolute standout feature of the design is a unique rooftop football field engineered to maximize space and give students an awesome place to play. According to the official tender documents, construction is expected to take about two years. Because of the sheer scale and high technical requirements of the project which includes building a dedicated power substation, water tank rooms, and complex electromechanical networks—the Ministry is restricting bids to top-tier contractors holding a valid Grade “AA” building license to ensure everything is built to the highest standard.
