Don’t Pay Until You Verify! MOI Bahrain Warns About Fake Sellers and Deposit Scams

Online scams involving fake sellers and deposit payments continue to target people across Bahrain, with the Ministry of Interior urging the public to stay cautious. Colonel Osama Bahar from the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption, Economic and Electronic Security warned that scammers are using fake advertisements on social media platforms to convince people to pay deposits for products, vehicles, and holiday rentals that may not exist. He advised residents to always verify the identity of sellers or service providers before making any payment, and to avoid transferring money to unknown or personal accounts without proper checks.

The public is also encouraged to be careful with offers that seem too good to be true and to share awareness messages with family and friends to help prevent online fraud.
