Dr. Zainab Turani has become the first Bahraini doctor to complete the Clinical Fellowship in Hematopathology at Yale University in the United States, marking a significant milestone in her medical career and for Bahrain’s healthcare sector. The specialized fellowship focused on advanced diagnosis of blood disorders and blood cancers. During her training at Yale, Dr. Turani worked under leading experts in pathology and gained hands-on experience in analyzing blood samples, bone marrow biopsies, lymph node evaluations and advanced laboratory techniques such as flow cytometry. She expressed gratitude to her supervisors and colleagues at Yale University, saying the experience significantly enhanced her clinical and research skills in hematopathology.
She added that she hopes to use the knowledge gained during her fellowship to help develop hematology diagnostic services in Bahrain, support medical education and training, and contribute to improving healthcare services in the Kingdom.
