Authorities in Saudi Arabia have announced that after the progress of the national vaccination program and high overall rates of immunity, the country has lifted almost all COVID-19 precautionary protocols! Residents will no longer need to wear masks. Practicing social distancing is also not mandatory, including worshippers in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.
A travel ban has also been lifted to and from 17 countries including South Africa, Nigeria, and Afghanistan. Along with this, visitors will no longer need to present a negative Covid-19 test upon arrival and precautionary home quarantine has also been removed!
The importance of booster shots has been stressed and the Covid-19 app, Tawakkalna will continue to be required to enter most public places.
