June 2024 Update: 760,000 Vehicles in Bahrain and Speeding Was the Most Recorded Fine

Hey everyone, here’s the latest scoop from Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior! As of June, the number of vehicles zoomed past 760,000 on Bahrain’s roads. Leading the list of violations were speeding tickets, making up a hefty 28% of all offenses recorded.

While the exact numbers weren’t specified, the Ministry’s website broke down the stats: alongside speeding, running red lights was a close second at 24%, while things like forgetting seatbelts (oops!) came in at 3%. Illegal parking nabbed 11%, expired registrations got 5%, and using phones while driving, well, that landed at 1%.

But that’s not all—the stats also gave us a peek into how Bahrain’s emergency responders were kept busy. Patrol units handled a whopping 67% of cases in June, with nearly a third of those related to traffic incidents, and the rest tied to security matters.

And for those crossing borders, the King Fahd Causeway was buzzing with 2.88 million passengers, split pretty evenly between arrivals and departures. Meanwhile, Bahrain International Airport saw nearly half a million travelers, and the seaports welcomed a tidy 3,582 passengers.

Stay tuned for more updates on Bahrain’s road scenes and travel vibes!
