UTB Becomes the First University in Bahrain to Offer a Dedicated Course in Social Media

UTB announces a new collaboration with Nuqta Platform, making it the first university in Bahrain to offer professional social media training focused on content creation and building a strong digital presence. The partnership introduces a non-academic training track designed to help students develop practical, real-world skills for today’s fast-moving digital landscape. Through this initiative, students will learn how social media platforms work, how to use them professionally, and how to create impactful content that aligns with global digital standards. This move reflects how social media has evolved from being just entertainment to becoming a key professional skill that opens doors to new career opportunities. UTB aims to empower its students to create meaningful, creative content that reflects their identity while remaining industry-ready and market-relevant.

As part of the collaboration, UTB joins Nuqta Platform as a strategic partner. Known for its work in empowering youth, Nuqta offers training programs led by experienced experts and content creators from the region, including Omar Farouk. These programs are expected to inspire students to build confident, effective, and responsible digital identities. UTB President Dr. Hassan Ali Al Mulla highlighted that the university’s role goes beyond traditional classrooms. He stated that the partnership supports the university’s commitment to preparing students for future job markets by equipping them with essential digital skills and professional online presence.

Founder of Nuqta Platform, Omar Farouk, also emphasized that social media today is a powerful tool for creating opportunities. He noted that this collaboration bridges academic learning with real digital-world experience, helping students confidently express their ideas and prepare for a future driven by digital influence. This step places UTB students at the heart of Bahrain’s growing digital scene and reinforces the university’s focus on shaping future-ready digital leaders.
