Get ready for a cosmic spectacle on June 3! Just before sunrise, an alignment of six planets—Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune—will grace the early morning sky. This rare event, best viewed from dark, high vantage points with minimal light pollution, promises a stunning celestial show.
The planetary lineup will appear as a near-straight line, visible 30-60 minutes before sunrise when looking east. While Mars and Saturn can be spotted with the naked eye, binoculars or a telescope are needed for Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus, and Neptune.
Dr. Alphonse Sterling, an astrophysicist at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, explains that while planetary alignments are an optical illusion due to their elliptical orbits, seeing six planets align is truly special. “It’s not common to see so many planets line up like this,” he said.
Don’t miss this incredible “planetary parade” on June 3—an astronomical event that promises to captivate stargazers around the world!
Happy Skywatching!
