The latest stats are in and Bahrain’s tourism numbers are looking great! According to the Information & eGovernment Authority, tourist spending in 2024 jumped by 23% compared to 2022. Visitors spent a total of BD 1.9 billion in 2024, compared to about BD 1.47 billion in 2022. In 2023, spending had already climbed to around BD 1.67 billion so things are clearly moving up! Overnight tourists (the ones who stay a while) spent big in 2024 — a whopping BD 1.4 billion, which is a 34% increase from 2022.
Even same-day visitors (those who pop in and out) made a difference! Their spending hit BD 496 million in 2024 up 18% from 2022. January 2024 was the biggest month for spending, with visitors dropping around BD 190 million, followed closely by February at BD 186 million. Tourism is booming, and it looks like Bahrain is becoming a top spot for visitors from all over!
