Bahrain with an abstract twist!
One of the most well-known Bahraini artists is Abbas Almosawi. Born in 1952, Abbas was really interested in art and Bahrain’s heritage as a young man. With that in mind, he went to Cairo and got his BA in arts from Cairo University. After starting as an artist in 1972, he became a role model to many aspiring Bahraini artists.
So who is he exactly?
Abbas Almosawi has long been an animated Bahraini art activist and is now recognized as one of the Middle East’s most renowned artists. His art form is mostly impressionistic, depicting the stories and a play between nature and the surrounding environment. As a man true to his environment, he adds the traditional flavor to his art.
Throughout this journey, he has taken innovation as an art form by spreading his art around the world. In doing so, he is the founder of the “Peace Project: through children and arts.“
Painting stories
Also, he is a well-known acrylic painter and artist in Bahrain. He is known for his stunning use of color and the way he incorporates it into his work. His paintings are full of life, movement, and energy. Even though they’re abstract, they tell a story to anyone who’s willing to take a closer look.
Favorite art mediums
There are many reasons why acrylic painting is such a popular medium in his work. First, it dries quickly, so you can get started on your next project right away—or take a break and start over if necessary. Also, it’s easy to clean up after yourself when you’re done with a painting session, unlike other mediums like oil paints or watercolors that can leave stains on your workspace if not handled properly. Additionally, acrylic paints come in so many different colors that it’s easy to find one (or five) that fit the mood of your painting exactly!
We love Abbas Almosawi’s work and wanted to share his amazing journey with you. We are so proud of this amazing artist that is well-known for his work across the world! Make sure to support our local legend by following him on Instagram here.
