Introducing AI
Plans to overhaul and update the school curriculum are being drawn up.
Education Minister Dr. Majid Al Nuaimi said, “It will add a renewed focus on artificial intelligence, robotics, and the expanding digital world”. The new syllabus, to be included for the new school year starting next month, aims to keep abreast of local, regional and global developments.
Private schools in Bahrain have already started updating their syllabus to keep up with the global trend towards information tech and AI. The first Inter-School Artificial Intelligence (AI) competition was held by the New Millennium School – Bahrain.
The home team of Fayiz Rahman, Akshat Kumar, and Mohammed Kaif won first place after presenting an app called ‘UWHIZ’. The app was designed to help students question how they use AI and encourage them to gain a deeper understanding of it.
The team from The Asian School, comprising of Alwyn Joby, Enric Joji Mathews, and Syed Basim took the runners-up spot, and the Al Noor International team, comprising of Yashpal Mishra, Chris Alan and Basith KM Abdul came third.
The ‘AI Continuum 2021’ contest attracted CBSE schools online from around the island. The aim is to nurture the innovative minds of young students from Grades IX-XII to resolve daily issues using AI.

البحرين تستخدم الذكاء الاصطناعي في المدارس
تم وضع خطط لإصلاح وتحديث المناهج الدراسية التعليمية.
صرح وزير التربية و التعليم الدكتور ماجد النعيمي: “سنركز على الذكاء الاصطناعي والروبوتات والعالم الرقمي الآخذ في الاتساع والمتجدد”. يهدف خلق منهج جديد، الذي سيتم تضمينه للعام الدراسي الجديد الي راح يبدي الشهر الجاي، لمواكبة التطورات المحلية والإقليمية والعالمية.
بدأت المدارس الخاصة في البحرين بالفعل في تحديث مناهجها الدراسية لمواكبة الاتجاه العالمي نحو تكنولوجيا المعلومات والذكاء الاصطناعي. أقيمت أول مسابقة بين المدارس للذكاء الاصطناعي (AI) من قبل مدرسة الألفية الجديدة (مليلينيوم)- البحرين.
فاز فريق المنزل المكون من فايز الرحمن، أكشات كومار، ومحمد كايف بالمركز الأول بعد تقديم تطبيق يسمى “UWHIZ”. تم تصميم التطبيق لمساعدة الطلاب على التساؤل عن كيفية استخدامهم للذكاء الاصطناعي وتشجيعهم على اكتساب فهم أعمق له.
حل فريق المدرسة الآسيوية، المكون من ألوين جوبي وإنريك جوجي ماثيوز وسيد باسم، في المركز الثاني، وحل فريق النور الدولي المكون من ياشبال ميشرا وكريس آلان وباسيث كيه إم عبد المركز الثالث.
جذبت مسابقة “AI Continuum 2021” مدارس CBSE عبر الإنترنت من جميع أنحاء المملكة. الهدف هو رعاية العقول المبتكرة للطلاب الشباب من الصف التاسع إلى الثاني عشر لحل المشكلات اليومية باستخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي.
