When Baron Pierre de Coubertin invented the modern Olympics, he said,“The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not winning but taking part; the essential thing in life is not conquering but fighting well.” And we should all be proud of our Bahraini Paralympians for doing exactly that. They put forward a stellar performance breaking their personal bests on the world’s biggest stage and we’re all so proud of them.
Ruba al Omari achieved a new record by finishing fifth in the discus throw competition, scoring a personal record (23.11 meters). This is her personal best to date. On the same day, Ahmed Mushaima managed to get an eighth place in the javelin throw competition with his personal best (39.37 meters). These achievements are monumental not only for each athlete but with respect to the games too.
It’s not just athletes who are making Bahrain proud at the games. Abbas Musa Ali Buhassan, an international level 2 referee is judging the triathlon championship. He is the only Arab referee in the tournament.
They’ve made everyone in Bahrain so Proud!

عندما اخترع البارون بيير دي كوبرتان الألعاب الأولمبية الحديثة ، قال: “أهم شيء في الألعاب الأولمبية ليس الفوز بل المشاركة ؛ الشيء الأساسي في الحياة ليس الانتصار بل القتال بشكل جيد “. ويجب علينا جميعًا أن نفخر بالبارالمبيين البحرينيين لفعلهم ذلك بالضبط. لقد قدموا أداءً ممتازًا كسروا أفضل ما لديهم على المسرح الأكبر في العالم ونحن جميعًا فخورون بهم.
حققت ربا العمري رقماً قياسياً جديداً بإحرازها المركز الخامس في مسابقة رمي القرص ، محققة رقماً قياسياً شخصياً (23.11 متراً). يعتبر من أفضل إنجاواتها الشخصية حتى الآن. وفي نفس اليوم تمكن أحمد مشيمع بأفضل ما لديه من الحصول على المركز الثامن في مسابقة رمي الرمح (39.37 مترا). هذه الإنجازات هائلة ليست فقط لكل رياضي ولكن فيما يتعلق بالألعاب أيضًا.
ليس الرياضيون فقط هم من يجعلون البحرين فخورة في اللعبة. عباس موسى علي بوحسن حكم دولي للمستوى الثاني يحكم بطولة الترياتلون. وهو الحكم العربي الوحيد في البطولة.
