The national airline of Bahrain is exploring options to resume direct flight service between the Kingdom and the US.
During an American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) luncheon yesterday at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain, Industry, Commerce, and Tourism Minister Zayed Alzayani announced Gulf Air’s plans to boost tourism. According to Mr. Alzayani, who is also Gulf Air’s chairman, New York would be the logical port of entry because of traffic and connectivity.
“Direct flights will be opened between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America, specifically with New York State, and the Gulf Air officials and the United States authorities will be coordinated to arrange and finalize procedures in preparation for direct flights between the country.”
Additionally, the Minister said that the government is in the final stages of signing a free trade agreement with seven countries. And that the team is working hard to sign more agreements. These countries are India, Pakistan, China, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, and Britain.
Time to take flight!
