His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. The cabinet approved 5 initiatives in the field of medicine and healthcare in the Kingdom.
1. Supporting the recruitment of Bahraini doctors in the private sector for a period of three years, provided that their wages are not less than BHD 800
2. Providing wage increments to Bahraini doctors currently working in private health institutions whose wages are less than BHD 800, for a year
3. Providing additional incentives to private health institutions where Bahraini doctors and dentists constitute 25% or more of their total workforce
4. Introducing “Ta’heel” as a program to train private sector doctors in the government sector, while continuing to work in the private sector
5. Facilitating the financing of educational loans up to BHD 30,000
