Saturn is in opposition. Confused? We were too, but what it essentially means is that the Sun, the Earth and Saturn are coming into alignment and Earth lies in between the Sun and Saturn. Because of this, Saturn is a lot more visible to both astronomers and layman throughout this time. The event will be ongoing till the end of December.
And a local astronomer, Mr. Premjith Narayanan has taken advantage of this. Mr. Narayanan, who is an experienced photographer is well known in Bahrain for being a man of many talents. An engineer by training, Mr. Narayanan has made a name for himself as an actor, an artist, a photographer, an astronomer and even a movie producer, having financed a short film that was thought up and made in Bahrain.
His latest endeavour is to capture Saturn in Opposition. But, his previous exploits are worth talking about too, like the fact that he actually made the trip to Finland to capture the Aurora Borealis in its full glory. Or that he flew across Switzerland in a four seater plane to photograph the countryside. Did we mention that he is also an avid boating enthusiast?

زحل يظهر في العلن وهذا المصور الفلكي مستعد لالتقاط كل شيء
زحل يتعارض مع الأرض والشمس. تخربتطوا؟ إحنا بعد، لكن ما يعنيه ذلك أساسًا هو أن الشمس والأرض وزحل يتجهون إلى مسار واحد وأن الأرض راح تقع بين الشمس وزحل. وبسبب هذا ، راح يكون زحل أكثر وضوح لكل من الفلكيين والناس العاديين طوال هذا الوقت. وراح يستمر الحدث حتى نهاية ديسمبر.
و استغل هذا عالم الفلك المحلي هالظاهرة الفلكية، السيد بريمجيث نارايانان. السيد نارايانان هو مصور فوتوغرافي متمرس، معروف جدا في البحرين لكونه رجل متعدد المواهب. كمهندس من خلال التدريب، صنع السيد نارايانان اسمًا لنفسه كممثل وفنان ومصور وفلكي وحتى منتج أفلام ، بعد أن مول فيلم قصير تم التفكير فيه وعمله في البحرين.
آخر إنجازاته هو التقاط ظاهرة كوكب زحل. حتى أعماله السابقة تستحق الحديث عنها بعد، مثل حقيقة قيامه برحلة إلى فنلندا لالتقاط الشفق القطبي المتألق في مجده الكامل. أو أنه طار عبر سويسرا في طائرة ذات أربعة مقاعد لتصوير الريف. وماننسى بعد حماسه للقوارب!
