As Bahrain sets up its pavilion for Dubai’s long-awaited Expo 2020, it looks like there’s no detail left to chance – local chefs Lulwa Sowaileh and Bassam Al Alawi will be in charge of The Bahrain Pavilion café, which will emphasize the diversity of the current Bahraini food scene.
Lulwa Sowaileh started working under Chef Wolfgang Puck in 2015 at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, and Bassam Al Alawi is the Owner and Executive Chef at Darseen Café in the Bahrain National Museum.
The café is set to become a living exploration of how density has weaved diversity, multiculturalism, and innovation into the island’s cultural identity, and we’re just waiting to be able to go!

بينما تقوم البحرين بإنشاء جناحها لمعرض اكسبو دبي 2020 الذي طال انتظاره ــ سوف يتولى الطاهيان المحليان لولوى صويلح وبسام العلوي مسؤولية المقهى الواقع في جناح البحرين. كما سيؤكد على تنوع المشهد الغذائي البحريني الحالي.
وبدأت لولوى صويلح العمل تحت إشراف الطاهي ولفغانغ باك في عام 2015 في فندق فور سيزونز البحرين، وبسام العلاوي هو المالك والطاهي التنفيذي في مقهى دارسين الواقع في متحف البحرين الوطني.
ومن المقرر أن يصبح المقهى استكشافاً حياً لكيفية سك الكثافة للتنوع والتعددية الثقافية والابتكار في الهوية الثقافية للجزيرة، ونحن بالانتظار للزيارة!
