The Future Learning Summit was organised and hosted at St Christopher’s School Bahrain on 24th and 25th February.
Almost 600 Students, Parents, Teachers and Leaders from private and government schools connected with global innovators and educators over the 2-day event to explore what it takes to be Future-Ready in the modern world. The specially designed programme, based off our St Chris Future Ready Curriculum, encouraged innovation and creative thinking and supported our beliefs, missions and core values; to be Role Models for the world.
Although the event was all about learning, the Summit was held in festival style with high energy presenters, interactive sessions and entertainment infused in every event.
The opening Keynote guest was World Champion Magician, Joshua Jay, who also holds a Guinness World Record and makes frequent appearances on TV shows like the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and the Late, Late Show with James Corden.
Dr Max McKeon, an internationally-renowned leadership coach, who has worked with some of the most successful global brands, and award-winning author of The Strategy Book, The Innovation Book and five other acclaimed books was the closing Keynote speaker on both days.
In addition the speaker line-up included international experts, including Jackie Beere OBE (educator & author), Claire Gadsby (author and assessment guru), Carrie Swift (founder of Love Public Speaking) and Bradley Bush (Innerdrive.co.uk, the science of learning).
We were extremely proud to also feature some local speakers to celebrate the opportunities of the future. The themes of their workshops included Metacognition & Growth Mindset, Public Speaking & Leadership, Wellbeing & Wellness, Metacognition & Pedagogical Practice, Digital Innovation & Enterprise, Sustainability and Passion Projects, STEM/STEAM, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Literacy… plus many more! Visit www.futurelearning.me to learn more about workshops and keynotes speakers.
In addition to the keynotes and workshops, FLS partnered with the Bahrain International Circuit to host an Incubator Hub and Sustainable Engineering Competition!
Innovators and student teams were able to join in for workshops and competitions, engage with experts, learn engineering skills and enter the student engineering competition by designing, building and racing a sustainably-powered car! We would like to thank all the schools who accepted our invitation to join the Incubator hub and Engineering Competition.
We could not have made this incredible 2-day event free to all delegates without the support of St Christopher’s School Principal, Dr Simon Watson, and the generosity of all our sponsors.
St Christopher’s School Bahrain is committed to staying connected with parents, students, teachers and leaders by providing current updates and announcements on our website, www.st-chris.net.
