Whether you’re celebrating or not
Either way, these are classic romance & rom-com movies we wanted to bring back!! You can watch these with your valentine, your galentine or even alone… it’s fine, pizza is good company!
Pride & Prejudice
Jane Austen baisically created the Romantic movie formula and Kiera Knightly does it so well here! Honestly, this one is a classic!
Sense & Sensibility
If you’re a fan of Pride & Prejudice, why not make it a double feature with Sense & Sensibility and live out your romantic Regency Era fantasies!
The Notebook
Prepare to cry – honestly can’t talk about this Nicholas Sparks masterpiece any more or we’ll start to sob!
Fun fact: Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams dated during and after making this movie – we stan.
Atonement
Keira Knightly is back with another tragic, romantic, period drama – and that’s a yes for us!
Bridget Jones Diary
This just had to make the list! A modern retelling of Pride & Prejudice set in modern day London with Renee Zelweger and Colin Firth!
About Time
We don’t see many Rom-Coms from a male point of view but About Time completely hits the nail on the head with this heart warming story of love, childhood AND time travel!
The Twilight Saga
Live out your middle school era angst with this modern classic in it’s full blue-tinted glory! Might as well watch the four sequels too.
How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days
One of many early 2000’s productions on this list – that was the golden rom-com age and we honestly miss it! Kate Husdon and Matthew Mcconaughey fall in love against all odds here.
No Strings Attached
Disclaimer: this one is NOT PG. Classic tale of friends hooking up with ‘no strings attached’ but end up falling in love!
Friends With Benefits
Basically the same exact move – watch this one if you don’t like Ashton Kutcher. Or make it a double feature! Same disclaimer applies.
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before (Part 1, 2 & 3…)
One of Netflix’s masterpieces! If you’re missing your high school days, this one’s for you. It has everything you need from love letters, to school trips and romantic declarations! Can’t recommend this one enough.
He’s Just Not That Into You
Wouldn’t be a Rom-com list if we didn’t have an ensemble movie here, and this is the one. Based on a best selling self-help book, many many women, here, realize that the men they love are just not that into them. One man, here, realizes that he IS into the girl!
The Holiday
If you’re not familiar with Nancy Meyers movies, she’s a Rom-com queen and this specific one starring Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet is an absolute fave!
You’ve Got Mail
Another classic Nancy Meyers flick, this time in collaboration with Nora Ephron. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan run rival book stores, in the early internet age, but manage to fall in love against all odds!
Notting Hill
She’s just a girl standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her. That’s all we have to say.
The Big Sick
This Oscar nominated film based on real events has everything. It’s make you laugh, cry and everything in between.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
