UAE Will No Longer Censor Content in Movies, Instead Will Implement a 21+ Age Rating

International films

The UAE has introduced a new age range of 21+ for cinemagoers which previously was 18. After the introduction of a new 21 age rating in cinemas, films with adult or explicit content will no longer be edited or changed and will pe played in their original “international version”. The new rule comes by The Media Regulatory Office in the UAE.

The moviegoers will need a proof of identification that they are over 21 years of age. Though most international releases are permitted in the Emirates, certain scenes in films with adult themes are often omitted. This new age range will eliminate the need to do that.
