Say hello to Hawra Aljufairi, Bahrain’s first female boat captain who’s breaking glass ceilings and paving the way for women. Hawra started her career in accounting, but she soon realized that her heart belonged to the sea. So, she took a leap of faith, switched careers, and joined the southern tourism company (STC) to become a boat captain.
It wasn’t easy, but Hawra worked hard, completed the required training and certifications, and made history as the first Bahraini woman to achieve this amazing accomplishment. Hawra’s journey is proof that you can do anything you set your mind to. She’s breaking stereotypes and empowering young women to pursue their passions, no matter what anyone else says.
