It was announced today through an online meeting between Bahrain’s Minister of Finance and National Economy, H.E. Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Legislative Authority and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce & Industry, that the government will extend financial support to private sector jobs and citizens.

Insured citizens working in the private sector who are affected by COVID-19 will have 50% of their salaries covered in the next three months from July to September by the government, as well as waive their residential electricity bills for the same time period.
The announcement comes at a time many families and businesses in the Kingdom are affected by COVID-19, which initialized a supportive financial package by the government for those facing economic challenges.
