Bahrain has Nominated Her Excellency Sheikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa to the position of Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
This is not the first time Her Excellency has been recognized for her achievements on the world stage. In 2017 the UNWTO special ambassador of the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development.
Her Excellency has also recently been featured in Vogue Arabia stating ;
We want to promote Bahrain. For me, this is my mission, my life, my job, and my passion. I will continue doing this and try to create ways to survive
