His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has officially issued the holiday circular for Eid Al Adha 2026 (1447 AH). The announcement sets the official break for all of the Kingdom’s ministries, state authorities, and public institutions, allowing public sector employees to plan ahead for the upcoming festivities. According to the circular, the official holiday will begin on Arafah Day and extend through the first three days of Eid. This translates to a four-day break starting from Tuesday, May 26, and running through to Friday, May 29, 2026 (corresponding to 9-12 Dhul-Hijjah 1447 AH). To ensure employees receive their full holiday entitlement, a compensation day has also been declared. Since Friday, May 29, already falls on the regular weekend, public sector offices will remain closed on Sunday, May 31, 2026, in lieu of Friday, giving the public sector a long, continuous holiday to celebrate the occasion with family and friends.
Happy Holidays!
