Bahrain’s National Ambulance Center has launched a new service called the “First Responder Motorcycle Service.” This service was introduced after being recognized for its positive impact in the Government Innovation Competition “Fikra.” The service aims to improve emergency response times, especially in places with heavy traffic or narrow streets. The service works in two steps. First, when someone calls the emergency number (999), motorcycles are sent out from the National Ambulance Operations Center. These motorcycles are used for situations where regular ambulances can’t get through because of traffic or narrow roads.
In the second step, the first responders on motorcycles provide immediate help. They are trained to handle emergencies like heart attacks, breathing problems, accidents, injuries, bleeding, seizures, drowning, choking, fainting, low blood sugar, and even emergency childbirth. If needed, traditional ambulances will be called for extra help and transport.
The team behind this service is made up of paramedics who have been specially trained and hold motorcycle licenses. This training ensures they can quickly and effectively assist in emergencies, helping to save lives faster.
So Proud!
