Ali Daylami, a Bahraini theatre producer based in New York City, has been nominated for a Tony Award one of the biggest and most respected awards in the world of theatre! He’s the first person from Bahrain and the entire Gulf region to ever receive this kind of nomination. That’s a huge deal! Ali was nominated for his work on a Broadway musical called “Maybe Happy Ending,” which opened in November 2024 and has been getting lots of love from both critics and audiences. Big names like The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Entertainment Weekly even named it one of the best shows of the year!
Ali used to work at Bahrain’s Economic Development Board, but later followed his passion for entertainment. He went on to study theatre management at Columbia University and worked on big productions like Wicked and The Heart of Rock and Roll. He shared that this nomination isn’t just for him for everyone in Bahrain who dares to dream big. The Tony Awards will be held on June 8, and we’re wishing Ali the best of luck!
