Bahrain’s cultural heritage!
Get ready to immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of Bahrain as the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities presents the traditional event, “Heya Beya.” This much-awaited celebration, held on Arafa Day, is set to take place on Friday, the 14th of June 2024.
Heya Beya is a Bahraini tradition inspired by Prophet Ebrahim’s story and Eid Al Adha. Kids plant beans in baskets and nurture them until they grow into Heya Beya plants. On the celebration day, dressed in traditional clothes, they gather with friends and family to toss their beloved plants into the sea, singing songs and wishing pilgrims a safe journey home.
So, make sure to mark your calendars and experience the magic of Heya Beya! Admission is free, so gather your loved ones and revisit some nostalgic memories this holiday!
Let’s go!
