Jeff Bezos, the world’s richest man and the Executive Chair of the Amazon Board is all set to go to the outer reaches of the atmosphere aboard the “New Shepard” spaceship of his company Blue Origin. Bezos becomes the second person to launch himself into space this month after Richard Branson rode upon his own spaceship from Virgin Galactic. This new age space race is an indicator for the burgeoning sector that is Space Tourism. So, maybe in the future, we’ll be able to ride on to space, take a few selfies and come back down. You can watch the launch live below, or look upto the sky to catch a glimpse of them as they fly past.
Bezos is accompanied by by Mark Bezos, his brother, Wally Funk, an 82-year-old pioneer of the space race, and an 18-year-old student. Ms. Funk and Mr. Daemen are setting new precedents for space travel as the oldest and youngest astronauts respectively.
