The Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea has announced his new cabinet and appointed a minister for coffee which is said to be the first in the world! The world’s first coffee minister is Joe Kuli and PM James Marape said “Minister Kuli’s focus will be coffee, coffee, and coffee”
PNG coffee has emerged as a desirable import in recent years, with cafes across Australia, the US, and Japan serving coffee made with beans grown in Papua New Guinea and the move is in line with the government’s commitment to expanding key agriculture industries including coffee and palm oil.
