Bahrain is making waves in the world of business! Coming in among the top ten countries with the best business climate in emerging markets. Can you believe Bahrain is ahead of some countries with larger economies such as China, India, and Brazil?
According to the Emerging Markets Annual Logistics Index, Bahrain ranked in the top 10 countries to support emerging markets and businesses. With that said, the island placed 14th among the overall Emerging Markets Logistics Index 2022 countries and 6th in business fundamentals. Additionally, the Kingdom advanced 6 ranksfrom the past Index!
GCC countries dominate the rankings regarding the legal, regulatory, and taxation frameworks of emerging-market countries. The UAE came in third after China and India, with Saudi Arabia following closely behind in sixth place. Both countries were also among the top ten in all four categories! In local and international logistics, business basics, and digital readiness.
The UAE was ranked the top for the “best environment for doing business”, with Qatar coming in second, Saudi Arabia in third, and Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait following closely behind.
The GCC countries are working hard to improve their private sector growth and reduce their dependence on oil and gas. They’re focusing on factors like technology and innovation, creating an environment for small businesses, upgrading infrastructure, improving working conditions, and providing a skilled workforce, to name a few. By doing so, they hope to drive economic diversification and create job opportunities for everyone, including women.
