Bahrain was a step above the rest at the French International Jiu-Jitsu Championship held over the past few days. A total of 5 gold medals were won by players representing Bahrain. Ali Monfardi, Hisham Noor, and Anthony Salvatore won the golds for Bahrain. Monfardi and Noor won two each, while Salvatore bagged one.
HH Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa took to social media to congratulate Monfaradi and Noor, the national team players, on their achievement.
Monfaradi, who is the instructor and owner of Elements Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Tubli, started jiu-jitsu at age 12 and hasn’t stopped since. Once he became an adult, he went off to Brazil to train under the legendary Fabio Gurgel. And to this day, Monfaradi is the only Bahraini who can claim this honor.
The medals were won in the following categories:
Ali Monfaradi
Black belt adult nogi under 77
Black belt adult gi under 77
Hisham Noor
