1. Qalat Al Bahrain
This beautiful fort in Karbabad that magnificently sits by the sea is a UNESCO heritage site. It is such an Instragrammable location, especially in the evening when it gets lit and makes the structure glow!
2. Bab-Al Bahrain
The Gateway to Manama Souq is the entrance to the hustle-bustle of Souq life where you can shop LITERALLY ANYTHING at affordable prices and not to forget, you can even snack around while you do it with so many cuisines and options available! A lot of tradition is found here from the Bahraini breakfasts, gold shops, spices, and lights, it’s worth a visit.
3. Muharraq Souq
Located in the old capital of Bahrain, Muharraq Souq will take you back to the old Bahrain with its intricate architecture, tasty food, and simplicity in the air. Explore the narrow streets and set your eyes on shop after shop and house after house to get a feel of what life was like on the island generations ago.
4. The House Of HRH Sheikh Isa Bin Ali Al Khalifa
If you ever want to see a glimpse of the 19th-century royalty, then this heritage site in Muharraq is the one for you! Our Kingdom’s previous King, HRH Sheikh Isa Bin Ali Al Khalifa sat within these very walls and took care of the Kingdom.
5. A’Ali Burial Mounds
For all lovers of history this spot can be of great interest for you! This is the proof of the earliest Dilmun civilizations in the world. Located in A’ali these mounds are now part of UNESCO’s list for World Heritage.
6. La Fontaine Centre of Contemporary Arts
A monument that dates back to almost two centuries ago, has now been converted into a fine arts museum, which also includes fine dining, an amphitheatre and an exclusive pilates studio. It is also a one of a kind location in the Gulf!
7. Al Jasra Handicrafts Centre
This centre is a testimony of how artisans have been accepted and respected in the Kingdom! Craftsmen have independent production centres and create unique items to for their livelihood. It is located in Al Jasra village.
