Another step forward
In another effort to make sure Bahrain’s battle against the coronavirus pandemic is successful, the NHRA (National Health Regulatory Authority) has just approved a new drug “REGN-COV2” for treatment in mild to moderate cases. The drug itself is manufactured by New York-based Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, and consists of a ‘cocktail’ of monoclonal antibodies, which are increasingly used to treat mild cases globally.
REGN-COV2 consists of both Casirivimab and Imdevimab, antibodies designed to block the virus’ attachment and entry into the human cells, which leaves it unable to further attack the human body.

عاجل: البحرين وافقت للتو على استخدام عقار جديد لعلاج الحالات المتوسطة من الكورونا
خطوة أخرى للأمام
وفي محاولة أخرى للتأكد من نجاح معركة البحرين ضد وباء فيروس كورونا، وافقت الهيئة الوطنية لتنظيم المهن والخدمات الصحية للتو على عقار جديد تحت اسم “REGN-COV2” لعلاج الحالات البسيطة إلى الحالات المتوسطة. وتصنع شركة ريجينيرون للمستحضرات الصيدلانية (Regeneron) التي تتخذ من نيويورك مقرا لها، وهي تتألف من مزيج مادتين تسمى “الأجسام المضادة أحادية اللون”، والتي تستخدم بصورة متزايدة لعلاج الحالات المتوسطة على الصعيد العالمي.
ويتألف هذا الدواء من نوعين من الأدوية وهما “كسيريفيماب” و”إمديفيماب”. وهي أجسام مضادة مصممة لمنع ارتباط الفيروس ودخول إلى الخلايا البشرية، مما يجعلها غير قادرة على مواصلة مهاجمة جسم الإنسان.
