Great News: Bahrain Is On the Verge of Reaching Herd Immunity

The National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus held a press conference yesterday where Lieutenant Colonel Dr Manaf Al Qahtani  put the current vaccination numbers into perspective. As it stands, more than 60% of the adult population has received the first dose of the COVID vaccine – 47% of which have received the second.

The current target is set at vaccinating between 50% to 60% with both doses by May and moving forward from there. You can find the full press briefing below:

Bloomberg projected, earlier this month, that Bahrain will reach herd immunity only 4 months from now, as the global COVID-19 tracker shows. Bloomberg has stated:

In Bahrain, the latest vaccination rate is 12,826 doses per day, on average. At this pace, it will take another 4 months to cover 75% of the population.
