Hence, this list of “Things to Check Off Your Bucket List in Bahrain”. Every week, our team will be curating one place, activity, or experience for you to try in Bahrain. Here is number 1.
Bahrain National Museum
The Bahrain National Museum is more than 20 years old. Now this may not seem like a very significant number, especially taking into account that most of the famous museums around the world are sometimes hundreds of years old. But, what the National Museum lacks in experience, it more than makes up for in substance.
The Bahrain National Museum, a seaside attraction worth it just for the views, was inaugurated in 1988 and was designed by Danish architects Krohn & Hartvig Rasmussen. It was constructed on an artificial peninsula, making the National Museum truly one of kind. You could even say that they building itself is a piece of art.
The Museum hosts 6000 years of Bahrain history, heritage and culture; all meticulously curated for the viewer. The story of Bahrain comes to life in the Halls of Graves, Dilmun, Customs and Traditions, and Manuscripts along with many more.. The exhibition halls, located on the ground and first floors, are accessed by the grand foyer, a large dramatic space accented by shafts of natural light, which hosts the exhibition, “Investing in Culture”.
Not only this, but the Museum also hosts several temporary exhibition every year, constantly providing the people of Bahrain a shot of culture. Currently, the Museum along with the National Theatre is hosting the 47th Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition. The exhibition which will run till December 2021, features art pieces from Bahraini artists of all walks. Even you can submit your own artwork HERE.
The exhibition is open everyday from 10 am to 7pm. Entry fee is very nominal for the amount of time you get to spend in this wonderful place.

متحف البحرين الوطني
متحف البحرين الوطني عمره أكثر من 20 سنة. صح عمره صغير، خاصة مع الأخذ في الاعتبار أن معظم المتاحف الشهيرة حول العالم يبلغ عمرها أحيانًا مئات السنين. لكن ما يفتقر إليه المتحف الوطني من حيث الخبرة، فهو يعوضه أكثر بالتحف المتواجدة.
تم افتتاح متحف البحرين الوطني ، وهو معلم جذب ساحلي يطل على البحر يستحق كل هذا العناء من أجل المناظر فقط، في عام 1988 تم تصميمه من قبل المهندسين المعماريين الدنماركيين Krohn & Hartvig Rasmussen. تم تشييده على شبه جزيرة اصطناعية، مما جعل المتحف الوطني تحفة فريدة حقًا.
يستضيف المتحف 6000 عام من تاريخ البحرين وتراثها وثقافتها. كلها منسقة بدقة للمشاهد. تنبض قصة البحرين بالحياة في قاعات القبورمثل دلمون صالة العادات والتقاليد، والمخطوطات الأثرية وغيرها الكثير. يتم الوصول إلى قاعات العرض ، الواقعة في الطابقين الأرضي والأول ، من خلال الردهة الكبيرة ، وهي مساحة رائعة كبيرة تتزين بأعمدة الضوء الطبيعي الذي يستضيف معرض “الاستثمار في الثقافة”.
مو بس هذا، أيضا يستضيف المتحف أيضًا العديد من المعارض المؤقتة كل عام ، مما يوفر باستمرار لشعب البحرين صورة ثقافية مشرفة. يستضيف المتحف إلى جانب المسرح الوطني معرض البحرين السنوي السابع والأربعين للفنون التشكيلية. المعرض راح يستمر حتى ديسمبر 2021، يعرض قطع فنية لفنانين بحرينيين من جميع النواحي. حتى يمكنكم تقديم عملكم الفني الخاص هناك.
يفتح المعرض أبوابه يوميا في مسرح البحرين الوطني من الساعة ال10 صباحا حتى الساعة ال7 مساءا ويكون مغلق في أيام الثلاثاء.
