This Bahraini Architect Recolored These Old Photographs & The Result Is Everything

Firas Al Obaidly is a Bahrain based architect who’s currently experimenting in colorizing vintage photographs of Bahrain’s Royal Family, and other iconic vintage photos of our island.

Check this one out, of Bahrain’s Hakim back in the day, Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa

Firas includes historical facts in the descriptions of his recolorizations. In this one, he explains how this photograph was taken on the Sheikh’s visit to England in 1936 – the Hakim was entertained for two weeks as a prestigious government guest.

And this one of the late HRH Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa when he was younger

HRH Sheikh Khalifa is captured here with a falcon. This recolorization really shows us a new side we’ve never seen before!

His Majesty The King during his Sandhurst days

His Majesty The King is pictured here with fellow Royal Family members, cadets of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and Mons Officer Cadet School.

And he colorizes non-royal photos as well
