Bahraini Journalist Ismaeel Naar Joins The New York Times Gulf Bureau!

The New York Times just scored a major win by adding Bahraini journalist Ismaeel Naar to their Gulf Bureau team. After an impressive career that saw him reporting from over a dozen countries across the Middle East, Ismaeel is ready to take on this new challenge.

Before joining The Times, Ismaeel was making waves as the Arab Affairs Editor at The National in the UAE, a paper known for being a launchpad for top-tier correspondents. His reports delved deep into the region’s geopolitics and economics, covering everything from the Houthi attacks on Saudi borders to the devastating earthquake in Syria, and even the struggles of Gazans crossing into Egypt at the Rafah border.

Oh, and did we mention? Ismaeel is a proud graduate of Northwestern University with a degree in journalism. Now, he’s all set to bring his sharp insights and on-the-ground experience to one of the world’s most prestigious newspapers.
