At the 16th session of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival, held on May 28, 2024, in Manama, Bahraini musician Khalid Fouad made waves with more than just his music! He was spotted wearing a ring featuring the Palestinian flag. This small but meaningful gesture showed his support for Palestine.
The festival, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain since 1994, celebrates and honors young talents in radio and television. This year’s event, organized by the Ministry of Information in cooperation with the GCC Radio and Television Corporation, was held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. It featured numerous Ministers of Information from GCC and Arab countries, as well as top media specialists.
Khalid, known for his soulful music and cultural influence, used the festival to highlight the ongoing struggles in Palestine. His choice of the Palestine ring was a subtle yet powerful way to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
