Think Outside the Cup: Here’s Why George Clooney Is Holding an Empty Cup for Nespresso’s Latest Campaign

In line with International Coffee Day, “The Empty Cup” campaign marks the first time Nespresso’s long-term brand ambassador, George Clooney, holds an empty cup instead of his trademark Nespresso coffee.

Any idea why?

George Clooney is seen holding an empty cup as an initiative that urges us to think outside the cup to tackle climate change. This campaign highlights the threat that climate change has towards global coffee production.

Currently, 60% of wild coffee species are endangered and 50% of the land used to grow coffee today could be unviable by 2050!

Climate change is happening right now and our cup of coffee is in danger. That first sip of coffee in the morning is pure bliss! Can you guys imagine life without it??

Nespresso created the AAA Sustainable Quality program in 2003 to ensure a sustainable supply of high-quality coffee whilst improving livelihoods of farmers. They have been protecting coffee from climate change for years and are now going even further with regenerative agriculture.

What is regenerative agriculture?

Regenerative agriculture has the potential to make farming part of the solution to the climate crisis. It is an approach which doesn’t just take from the land, but actually heals nature and restores balance.

We can’t survive a day without coffee and I’m sure you guys totally agree. So it is high time we make a difference right?!
